One month ago today Any Port was christened and launched into the unknown. Beginning with only a skeletal crew we now have 62 members registered. While many things continue to be ironed out and creative input continues to enfold I see the potential for many horizons ahead. Much hard work and time have been devoted to our Port and I am grateful to have been a part of it. Looking forward to many more voyages with you all.

You're right ~ a month has gone by like the swoop of the swallow!
The streets and by-ways of Any Port would be empty without the building efforts of people like you. Those efforts and your continued contributions make for a rich and varied forum. Thank you.

A one line comment from K2. Is that chat?

It all depends on whether or not a message was perceived in the post or if it was just to say Yay us! or Hi Bixa!

So chat is okay if no 'message' is intended in the post ? These rules are growing by the day ...

Voyages of discovery, thought provoking threads, varied themes, they are all here and will grow with the continued contribution of all of us without fear or favour. And I thank those who continue to put a lot of time and effort into making this board one I wish to return to time and time again. Seriously.

Was that any better?

That was very nice, Mark. I have noticed that it appears difficult for the elder members to give praise, while the new members have only given praise. The truth must lie somewhere between those two extremes.

Really ? Like a Village Elder ? How old do you have to be before you pass from being a village idiot to a village elder? On topic - good photos from Baz and his a lot younger looking wife.

If I make it to 93, I'll STILL be the village idiot Mark, you know that.

ummm....I think 'elder members' means those with years of experience on forums as opposed to those of us with very little.
(Gyro, you let down your guard when you posted 'V' in Poem of the Day. I thought it was brilliant, with an angry beauty.)

I've been looking forward to a discussion about Raymond Carver down in the library G. I love his work too.

Jazz, I have no 'guard'; I is what I is.
Casi; let's talk about Ray. Meet me in the library with an iron bar and Colonel Mustard ....
