Yes, I saw that photo today and loved it. But of course the luck is in the alignment since the actual lightning bolt is far away on the horizon.

Why is it Blue again? I remember seeing it blue in '08 and loved it, thought it was as good as i've ever seen it but that was for France getting EU presidency.

Incredible photo. I wonder if it was pure luck, or if the photographer had a camera set up and was clicking away as lighting flashed. Still, a person could take a hundred pictures and not get a strike like that.
I also wonder how often that tower is actually hit by lightning and what kind of controls are in place to disperse it. Surely it must make quite a sound.

I see the link is broken but i was looking at the bbc report of this pic here and see that it was indeed taken in 2008! The newspaper I first seen it in Wednesday suggested it was taken recently. www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-14745576This link should work
