Most of us will know that a much loved poster, Gringalais, is tying the knot today. I thought it would be nice if we could all post a wish for her and her fiance, preferably in as many different languages as possible.
Also, if there is a particular blessing/ritual or the like that is normally used at weddings in you part of the world/or a part of the world that you have traveled to, please feel free to add that.

I'm not expecting her to have time to read any such stuff today, but when she gets around to it -- I hope everything went great!

Zulu Weddings The wedding process begins with the lobola agreement. In the Zulu kingdom, lobola is considered as a show of the grooms commitment to his future bride. It is also compensation to the father and his kraal for the loss of the girl. Zulu weddings are characterised by joyous singing and ululating, dancing and mock fighting by warriors in traditional dress. The women wear traditional headdresses, beautiful beaded necklaces and soft leather aprons. No invitations are sent and the whole community can join in the celebrations. Unlike western style weddings no vows are exchanged. In Zulu wedding tradition the marriage is only finalised *when the bride is taken to be bathed and examined by her sisters the morning after the wedding.
* be glad that you are not marrying a Zulu!

In the Basque Country it is traditional to have dancers greet the couple as they come out of the church. Here are your dancers Gringlais:

Well the main tradition at Scottish weddings is to get everybody very, VERY drunk!!! I hope that your partnership brings love and much happiness. THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE WELL WISHES!!! Sounds like here, although we were starting to run out of food, but there is still a decent amount of booze left. Knowing some friends and how they can consume alcohol at such an occasion, we made sure to have more than enough. We had to order more sushi and luckily my husband (weird saying that) went to a Costco-type place and bought large quantities of cheese, salame and crackers. In the end when nothing else was left, we at least had that to put out. I was not nervous at all until right before the ceremony and then during the first part of it. I basically gripped his hand and leaned into him to not show the nerves. I don't remember much of what the Justice of the Peace said. I guess that is pretty typical. I know this is what I want, but signing and making it official still is a big thing. It was really touching that almost everyone that we invited showed up and was so happy for us. We said we didn't need any gifts, but still people gave us some nice stuff, typical wedding gifts, towels, glasses, serving plates, etc. It is a bit weird being married, since the both of us in the past pretty much thought that we would never get married. He sent in an online job application today and as is typical here, you have to indicate if you are single, married, widowed, etc. It took him a second to realize he had to put married. And who walked off with a full bottle of rum, we will never know, but it makes me laugh. At least we bought it 3 for the price of 2. I have put up pictures, those that are on my Facebook, can see them, if you aren't and want the link, let me know.
