Got to love the Croatian people for their ingenuity!!! Isn't there also some kind of liqueur or cordial (if one can call it that... ) that has gold flakes in it? I remember being at a Mardi Gras party and seeing some people, mostly youngsters, drinking it and thought to myself , that's perverse, obscene and disgusting. (Not to mention taking flossing to a whole new level!!)

Indian and Pakistani exclusive desserts have gold or silver foil placed on them. I ate my share of silver on a first class Paris-New York flight on Pakistan Airlines once (That's when it used to fly Karachi-Damascus-Cairo-Frankfurt-Paris-New York). I feel really sorry for the passengers who had to experience all 5 stops, silver foil or no silver foil.) Believe me, that plane was ripe, by the time it finally got to New York.
