Beautiful red colour and almost beckoning you to eat them. I bet they're poisonous to humans.

Probably to birds, too, since they remain untouched.

Came across this on a walk yesterday. Not sure which category here best applies. Anyone know what we're looking at here?

The plant in pic #280 is known here as a Spindle Tree I think.

Mick's plant looks like Senecio macroglossus and a Viola had a baby.

In any case, it is a plant with temerity in spite of its environment.

Excellent description Bixa!
It was on an old wall some 50 metres long and there were many of them.

Thanks, Mick! It's really a pretty plant & must be quite striking all over the old wall.

A little corner of my horse's field, which is protected from grazing, is looking rather pretty at the moment - lots of different grasses, clover and vetch. My friend tried an experiment and just threw the remnants from a large hay bale onto the ground last Autumn . live.staticflickr.com/65535/52162535797_774a65231d_o.jpg

ow long does the colour last? I am not absolutely sure - the orangy colours are where it is dying off. Mid Aug until mid Sept is my best guess

I have no idea what these are. They must not be toxic since they are municipal plantings along the street.

They look like acorns, but these are definitely not oak trees.
