Rikita explained a dish her mum makes with steamed cucumbers.
The search engine seems to be playing and I cannot find it anymore.
Can anyone help?
I wanted to pass it to a friend with such a glut that she's fed up of bottling them.
Actually enjoyed a soup she tried that is hot cucumber and mint soup. (it has onions and leek in it, too along with a few spices. it was really nice!)

I have to confess that it still sounds pretty terrible to me, but I would try to choke it down if somebody served it to me.
I think I would just try to cut them up and pickle them or something. But when you have a 3-year supply of pickles, it doesn't really solve the problem -- it creates a new one.

I totally believe you, riki, especially now that I've tried that warm cucumber and mint soup. I think my friend got at least some of the correct cucumbers. the ones that are short and stocky and with "bumps" on their skin.

yeah, exactly those...
hm, if i could get mr. r. to like cucumbers i could make that this weekend... but for him that is one of the things he actually despises, so it would be kind of mean. kind of like him making sausages for dinner...
