I am very tired today and I expect that tomorrow will be no different.
We seem to have a rodent or two living under our wooden floor boards, add to the mix a Scottish Terrier who is bred to hunt rodents and you have an interesting night and day and night and day.
I have just been to the dining room and I see that she has succesfully chewed the skirting board and pulled it away from the wall, all in an effort to get under the floor to get to the above mentioned rodent.
I have some people coming to do pest control on Wednesday who will do what they need to do, but until then ...
Thank goodness I will get a bit of sleep under anaesthesia tomorrow!
No real point to this post, just needed to share. Thanks.

Saturday night my cat Sadie brought me a mouse(still warm) and then about 20 minutes later Mr. C.'s cat Grazie brought him a mouse. I suspect they came from outside as several doors were open. Offerings.

When I had mice under the floor, I don't think I slept more than about 45 minutes a night.

Poor Palesa! You sound ground down by recent events and the mice are the final straw. I have rather a bad water problem right now, so am very frugal with it doing laundry, etc. The other day I got everything washed, including the rugs -- a very satisfying feeling. This house has no closets or cupboards, so I keep my towels in one bottom drawer of a wardrobe and my jeans in the other. When I went to get out clean towels & put up the freshly washed ones, I discovered mouse droppings all over the towels in the drawer. Drat! Luckily nothing was chewed, but I had to pull all the towels and pants out and wash them.

So the pest control people came? Any idea what they used to get rid of the rodents?
I have a big fat rat who has made a hole from the street side under my block wall. The other night he strolled up onto the porch when both Ginger & I were right there at the open kitchen door. Now I'm afraid to go out to the compost bin at night. I dramatically set the hole on fire with rags, gasoline and sticks, but I think he just tidied up afterwards & is still using it.

Funnily enough, and I'm very surprised, I've never seen a rat in my house! And there's a slum right behind it. Bixa, for me cats wouldn't be a solution either, I'd need to get dogs to get rid of them!
