Seems like a fertile field. Post your pictures and anecdotes here. These were taken in the city of Oaxaca on June 17, when Mexico was playing Brazil. In a cafe ~On the street in front of an appliance store, with the banks of tvs placed conveniently near the door ~

Thanks, Casimira! Not being a sports fan myself, I've never been able to meaningfully contribute to this board. The fruits are pitaya, a type of cactus fruit.

Tonight France is having the first championship match since everything changed in March 2020. There have been one of two "friendly" matches but nothing which really counted. After all, who wants to see the PSG crush Le Havre 9-0 when it doesn't really count?
So tonight the Stade de France, the biggest stadium in France, hosts the Coupe de France final between the PSG and Saint Etienne. France is the first European country to allow spectators, a maximum of 5000 socially distanced fans in a stadium that holds 81,338 people. You'd think that people would be happy for a few crumbs, but no. The five supporters' clubs of Saint Etienne were accorded 900 tickets, but their response was "it's everybody or nobody -- we're not going!" They wanted the FFF (Fédération française de football) to leave the seats empty, but the FFF replied "no way!" So they had to shell out 13,500 euros to buy the seats in question. Talk about stupid! I hope that people are allowed to occupy those seats anyway -- they could let in 900 fans free of charge if nobody occupies those seats before the beginning of the match.
Anyway, President Macron will attend, because the symbolism of sports remains primordial.

I see that this match is being broadcast in 80 countries since everybody (I mean sports fans) is so starved for sports.

I'm not a great sport fan but I do enjoy watching matches with some friends who are, in my case either "French from France" or from the Southern Cone (Chile, Argentina, Uruguay).
