I love the concept and bravo to him for this mammoth endeavor. The choice of "stone" however, appears so artificial. Is it concrete? I realize that the same type of stone would be difficult to come by but, I would have chosen something much more natural looking. Even granite would be more appealing IMHO. There are several kinds of granite, one in particular that after just a few years takes on a mossy patina of sorts.
My husband has toyed with erecting a stupa (a Buddhist type of structure), in our garden for years now. He has drawn several designs but always get hung up on what type of stone to use.

The BBC recently showed a programme about the Stonehenge area. There has been a large ground radar survey which has thrown up further prehistoric features. The theory postulated is that Stonehenge was a trading centre for a large part of Europe, artifacts were found originating from hundreds of miles away. Of course the weirdos got into the picture suggesting ritual killings etc.
