I feel silly complaining about heat, as I love heat, and most of my life here is suffering torture from the cold. But it has been very hot and humid and I feel just a bit nauseated, without having had the joy of a lively evening with friends, with too much music and wine, and too little sleep. Yes, of course I'm drinking lots of water. Any other remedies?

I understand Lagatta about feeling silly complaining about the heat but we seem to be either be too cold or too hot! When I am nauseated I have a couple of peppermints/scotch mints, that combination of a little mint and sugar seem to calm my stomach. It will be interesting to see what helps others.

Ginger helps, as does anything fizzy (just in case it's trapped wind), so ginger beer or anything like it, or if you're actually hungry but the heat's put you off your food, ginger biscuits (and keep hydrating anyway, that may be part of it). Another thing I use when feeling a bit digestively "off" is tonic water with a drop or two of Angostura bitters in. Maybe the bitters don't make much difference, but it tastes mildly medicinal, so it may be a psychological trick. My blog | My photos | My video clips"too literate to be spam"

I've been drinking fizzy water, which does help, and I'll grate a bit of fresh ginger into it. Thanks. Absolutely forbidden to eat hard candies (soft teef). However, I can also make fresh mint tea!
