Trickle down economics has been one of the worst ideas ever. I first heard the term when Reagan was president of the United States, but I'm sure that he was not the inventor. Even in France, Macron is guilty of giving the idea a certain amount of credit.
But for me, trickle down economics just means "let the rich do whatever they want and it's okay if a few crumbs fall on the ground."

To be a bit serious, making business with UK is not as easy as it used to be. We are sending à fortune to re-certify products that are CE compilant, so it is just wasted money and not all products will be re-certified which means à smaller range of products available to Brits.
We also recently dropped a uK supplier and attributed the order to à guy from the continent simply because the administration was much easier...
Sometimes choice hangs on détails...
But so be it. I just had a teams with à guy from the region of manchester. He joined late so I could tell him I understood since they were backwards in UK and actually retarded, before saying that we are not racists and therefore still contemplating buying stuff from brexiters.
A nice way to break the ice with a stranger - the guy had the décency to laugh. Good point for him, à good seller !
Me provocative ? Hey, come on...

One interpretation is that maybe he just wanted your money and was being polite. You are right in that the hoops to jump through seem to have increased, or maybe they've just changed, but simple bureaucracy has always been an oxymoron. This is the same man or a different one from your old boss who was also coincidentally from Manchester you called retarded?

Nigel Farage claimed that he would be a better leader of the Tory Party than Rishi Sunak. The UKip party have evolved (devolved?) Into The Reform Party...which sounds really progressive but is actually more like a right wing Tory party. They aim to keep Starmer out of number 10 ..but shot themselves in the foot really by dividing the Conservative vote in local elections held yesterday.

I don't think that anybody would accuse the Financial Times of being left wing radicals, so this video about Brexit appears to be quite well balanced about the current situation (almost to the extent of being wishy washy). I found the very first comment below the video to be one of the most pertinent.
