Now that he is suddenly calling for gun reforms, the Republicans will find a way to push him out. Of course, the country (and world) will be stuck with Pence, who I consider just as horrible but in a different way.

So, the dotard isn't going to annhilate the DPRK anymore?

So, the dotard isn't going to annhilate the DPRK anymore? No, but if we’re lucky, maybe they’ll figure out a way to poison him during the meetings.

This is how a lot of the rest of the world sees this new country.

After two days of Trump with Macron in Washington, I kind of doubt that Trump would go to New Orleans as well. There have been no official plans for Trump to make an appearance here in NOLA but, anything could change as we well know.

He could show up with Kim Jong-Un.

Yep. That's what we're used to. Throw in a Lee Harveyish Oswald type and we'll be right on script. Despite your bypassing NOLA and remaining in Kenner (America's City, no joke), you might finally get it K2.

Does "untethered" mean the same thing as "unhinged"?

He doesn't seem to know what a fact is, since you can't make them up. However, you can make up lies.

I was listening to some reporting today that President Trump now says this happened during a telephone call while Parliament Hill staff for Prime Minister Trudeau are saying no one seems to know of this conversation at all. So, it may seem that it may have been a made up lie indeed!

I know a fellow (obviously retired now) who was an adviser to Trudeau père, and he certainly spoke of aides at the ready during those "phone calls". And nowadays the aides have lots of apps at the ready that didn't exist in the age when teletype machines were high-tech. I don't know for sure, but I'd also expect that those phone calls are recorded by both parties.
That fellow was a friend and drinking/hockey match mate of my uncle who had been a bush pilot. One thing I remember about him is that he was enthralled with the Nordic countries and Scandi modern (1950s-60s)furniture. Funny the things one remembers from youf.

Precisely, LaGatta. Aides are there to help the leader out if he/she needs it. But we expect the leaders of our nations to be more than simply briefed on talking points. We have every right to expect them to be cognizant of the facts relating to a given issue. Back to the orange excrescence -- this is by Fran Lebowitz, who believes racism is behind Trump's election: “He allowed people to express their racism and bigotry in a way that they haven’t been able to in quite a while and they really love him for that. It’s a shocking thing to realise people love their hatred more than they care about their own actual lives. The hatred – what is that about? It’s a fear of your own weakness.” source

There is not enough to him to burn out. There is nothing in the Oval Office except a twitching, shallow, ego-driven entity snarling and snapping at the air as the extent of his utter worthlessness as a leader -- and really, as a human being -- closes in on him.

And so Trump's first state visit as a host is coming to an end. Macron tried his best I suppose. Angela Merkel arrives at the end of the week. Poor woman.
