I'm actually stuck relatively not to far away for me anyway, in Frankfurt. Have a great day! Lots of pictures please. Bixa, are you wearing your Marilyn Monroe sunglasses? I attempted to phone the restaurant and have some wine sent to your table Oh, Mark ~ so near & yet so far! Mick, no ~ I had on my prescription sunglasses, which are more 1930s intellectual. Breeze, you wouldn't have known us, we were so sedate! Casimira, how immensely thoughtful of you! Perhaps the fact that the request didn't go through contributed to our good behavior. It was a wonderful day ~ great place, good weather, and excellent company. I am here to report that Whatagain is quite handsome -- he looks nothing like his avatar and is delightful company as well. Mossie's quick dry wit was in evidence and he is to be thanked for recommending the pleasant and interesting venue. Kerouac was his charmingly urbane yet accessibly friendly self and we were all quite at ease in each others company. We were having too good of a time to remember pictures, although I think I snapped off one of Mossie & Kerouac. Everyone was threatened not to dare post anything of me that doesn't look like Sophia Loren, so the photographic record of this event might be skimpy. Many many thanks to all of you for the well-wishing. It is because of all of you that get-togethers will continue to be organized. I certainly would love to meet each of you in real life.

It was a very kind idea, Casimira, but since the venue was a microbrewery, your gesture might have been considered to be a tiny bit insulting by the management. But they do have wine on the menu too -- it takes all kinds!

Part of my rehearsed spiel was to inquire what your table was drinking and either buy a round if it was beer or a bottle of whatever wine y'all may have been imbibing. I had a lengthy description of the lot of you garnered from the tidbits that I know of some of you along with some other details. (all very flattering I assure you).
I was very disappointed I couldn't get through but not as disappointed as I am to hear that there are few to no photos.

Sounds like you all had a marvellous time together! I did think of you all at about 6:00 a.m. when I woke up to the birds chirping this morning and remembered this was the day of the APIAS 2018 gathering!
Cheers!

Glad to hear it didn't end up in a drunken brawl. My absence may have helped

Glad to hear you had a nice time. Was it just the four of you?

There is a smaller meetup scheduled for tomorrow, but for some reason Bixa does not seem to be participating. The other three members will be there, and we will try our best to win the pub quiz under the supervision of French Mystique Tours.

Humph! I suppose my invitation was "lost in the mail", eh?
