I wanted to share a normal business trip in Germany.
Where you find yourself in the middle of nowhere.
Hear some pictures of a pretty normal trip in a totally normal town in west Germany. 20 Km from Munster.

The garden of the hotel was beautiful. the room tasteless but comfortable. the restaurant looked like a cantina.  A farm opposite the hotel. everything was super flat. No elevation in sight.  The city hall of the town.  The typical German small restaurant. aerving gyros here. Very good.  Germans are pragmatic. At a gas station you can find commodities of emergency too.  I said I would try the local beer. As much as Belgian beer is top, this one was ok.  |

All in all a pretty normal place where normal people can live a normal life.
Maybe a bit boring…

It may be normal and boring because you've been across Germany many times, but it's awfully interesting to those of us who wonder what a plain old boring town in Germany is like. Great pictures!

The condom dispensers are in front of drugstores in France.
I find the cross and IHS on the barn roof rather strange. Is this a very Catholic area of Germany?

According to internet IHS is very common in Christian countries.
It means Christ - IeHova.
Why the s - must read the explanation again.

Even for those of us who live in France, it is always interesting to see ordinary towns and villages in places like Germany, Italy, Spain, etc. The other continents often think of Europe as a uniform entity, but nothing could be farther from the truth.

When I was young and still had to go to church sometimes, I was always intrigued and confused why all of the crucifixes had INRI at the top. Nobody ever explained it and you were not supposed to ask impertinent questions back in those days.
Wikipedia tells me that is stands for IESVS NAZARENVS REX IVDÆORVM, "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews."
I disapprove of religions that use secret codes and secret languages, basically all of them.

There was a crackpot doctor in my hometown who placed three crosses next to his long driveway. They weren't exactly like the crosses on Golgotha, though, as each one would almost have accommodated King Kong.

Interesting whatagain  Germany is one country that I have visited (a course in Hamburg at Olympus Instruments in 1991). The restaurant looks exactly the same as the one I visited... The beer was excellent...we had it with a platter of all sorts of sausages and pickles  |
