As is my tradition for such things, here is an array of typical Paris menus encountered at random on the street. I made absolutely no selection and just photographed what was easy to photograph. It should nevertheless give anybody with any intention of visiting Paris an idea of what can be found on the menus (displayed by law outside of every place selling food). I will be happy to reply to any questions regarding the terminology, if I am capable of doing so. (Outside visitors should note that registration here is extremely simple.) Here is what is on the menu this week. (More coming soon.) (Yes, you noticed it, too. Sometimes the English translations are atrocious and incomprehensible.)

I find the "vapor menu" (those yummy little steamed things) rather amusing.
I can't read everything as some of the photos scan too small; guess I could click on them and resize them.

Yes, I know -- not all of the photos are successfully legible. I'll do better next time.
I have noticed that it is the Asian restaurants that are the most likely to get their translations straight from the dictionary and not worry about whether it is the correct word or not.
(For those who don't know about 'vapor' they are actually referring to dim sum, since the French name refers to 'steamed' specialties.)
