I push it down with a spoon and use it's weight to hold it there.

I do that too when I have to, but I resent it.
The three-sided PG Tips bags can have the air forced out of them with the side of the spoon, but the Twinings Earl Grey bags, what I was drinking this afternoon, are determined to bob to the top.

My cleaning lady doesn’t like our pets. She puts them outside. And Birdie our dog took the opportunity to run away. She crossed the road and was found by nice people. Who called my wife in France who called my daughter to fetch her. Bitch (the cleaning lady).

Bixa, put the bag in then turn the mug upside down. It'll be at the bottom then.

Put the bag in first, then pour water into the cup.

I always put the bag in before pouring the water, and the bag never floats.

I do put the bag in first -- I'm not a savage.
Things have come to a pretty pass when I actually considered Mark's advice for a micro-moment.

I bought a new mobile phone yesterday and understand very little about it. I thought it would be similar to the previous one (going from Huawei to Xiaomi). But it is driving me crazy.
One of the worst things is that due to all of the new password rules (1 special symbol, 1 upper case, minimum of 8 characters), I have found that the $ sign that I've been using does not seem to be an option on my new keyboard, just € or £. So it looks like Im going to have to change a lot of my passwords. Shit!

I'm sure it's there somewhere. Lightly hold on top of the pound or euro sign and see if a new menu pops up above it with a dollar sign.

I finally found the dollar sign on my telephone, hidden away somewhere. I just hope that I will be able to find it again. I can only imagine that Xiaomi hid it on purpose to punish the capitalist world. Even if the dollar is in decline, it remains the #1 currency and there is no reason to keep the € and the £ perfectly visible while hiding the $.

Cold calls.
Someone calling you usually when you are busy introducing her by her first name (something we don’t do here) and trying to sell you stuff you don’t need.
Last was yesterday and I tried to be nice instead of hanging up as usual.
I asked her to send a mail. She said ‘no we only do per phone’ Me : ‘ then forget me’
Click.

I rarely answer these calls but if I don't hang up immediately, I ask them to write to me. My mailbox remains empty.

Pet peeve of day : - the cat opens the waste basket - the dogs whatever she finds.
Net result : - my wife cleans the kitchen of the fallen remains of the waste in the morning. - clean the remains of the digestion of the dog.

I wonder what our ancestors have done.
My cousin (daughter of - petit cousin in French) is less than 40 and had an anévrism. She was put in deep coma and was operated upon to actually allow for parts of her brains to dilate and not crush vital functions. So instead the right part of her brains will be damaged.
But this we will see if she survives.
That means that in my related family we had - grandma dying of cancer at 51 - grandma dying of septicaemia in her 40’s - mother falling off the stairs at 51 and losing half her brains - son dying at 12 - cousin between life and death at 40 - some burn outs - nothing unusual here
In the related family (aunts etc) - 3 breast cancers in my wife’s family- cousin dead at 41 - 2 suicide attempts - alzheimer - but only for the ones making it older than 75 2 aunts, father in law.
On the bright side my nephew and godson will be father again this month.

My family is almost cancer free, but my grandfather did have prostate cancer. Nobody else, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. ever had cancer.

I hope your cousin recovers and that her brain becomes fully functional again.
Those are really sad and upsetting family details, Whatagain. I think it's wonderful that you spend so much time with your family when you can -- cooking outdoors, coming up with fabulous family vacations, etc.

The news of my petite cousine are not really good. She woke up but can't talk and there is a slight mobilisation of her left limbs. Nobody dares have a prognosis.
My cousin is leaving for a month to Vancouver to stay with her. His wife can't go along.

Surely she will need a good bit of time to recuperate before she can start physical and other therapies. It must be the worst kind of hell for her parents.

In Spanish there is no audible difference between v an b. When people spell a word, they'll say either "b de burro" or "v de victoria". Basic orthography in Mexican schools must be poorly taught, as often you have to figure out what a hand made sign or a post on facebook is trying to say. The confusion is compounded by run-on sentences with no punctuation.
