The house where I lived before had really bad, inadequate electricity. My camera batteries kept getting low, and I finally had to replace them
Last night, here in the new house with normal electricity, I plugged in the recharger with all four batteries in it.
When I took them out this morning, they were quite hot -- maybe too hot for some people even to touch.
Is this normal?

Batteries do get hot if recharged. But getting too hot to touch seems a bit much. That needn't necessarily be the fault of the electricity supply in your house. Could also mean the charger took a knoeck or the batteries aren't good anymore (could be a possibility since you say electricity in the old house was not good meaning the batteries were never charged 100% and have lost some of their storing capability)..

These are the new batteries, HW. They weren't so hot that I dropped them or anything, but definitely hot. I needed to leave the house and attempted to let them cool a little bit, but finally went ahead & put them in the camera. They worked fine.

When I took the little plug-in thingy to repel mosquitos out of the socket this morning (the same socket I used for the batteries), I noticed it was warm as well. Guess it's normal. This house is made of block. I guess it can't burn down. Oh yeah ~~ and aye, aye sir .................... you too!
