What do you see of the outdoors from where you are right now? If possible please put a picture up of your view. At the moment I am on the computer in my office upstairs, so I see the tips of trees, blue skies and a few fluffy clouds. I'll put a photo up in a few mins. If you can't see outside from where you are, then just tell us what you do see, and put a pic. up of it if you like.

Were you on the first floor, Deyana? I wonder which floor I should take the photo from.

The third floor, spindrift. If you use a laptop, I guess it could be from anywhere!

Help....ok I'll take pics tomorrow, front and back where I look out on the 3rd floor. It's nearly dark now!
OMG, it's only 8:30pm and I realise the nights are drawing in....Oh NO!

I think you've all seen this before - but here's an up to the minute pic - typical of the dreary days we've been having. Shot from our bedroom window (second floor).

I know how you feel, I wish it were summer all year around.

That's a real nice view, imec. The grass is so green. Is that your backyard/garden?
One good thing about all this rain we've been having this summer, is that the grass (and in my case, the baby trees I planted), grow so well.

This is the view from my window tonight. Always a lot of big buses, because it is the road out of Paris to London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Scandinavia, Berlin, Warsaw, the Baltic countries, Moscow, etc.

Here is the view from the kitchen window. The 'bright spot' behind the car is the Chinese deli that is open until midnight.

Here is my exact view from the computer chair. The picture came out too glary for you all to see the mountains , but the crap I need to clean up on the porch shows up really well . (4 p.m. Central Daylight Time, Aug. 8, '09)

I think it's the dog bowls here and there that really give it that special touch. Actually, I really like this house -- tons of natural light and a nice view even from inside.

Bixa - it looks lovely. I see lots of water bowls for Ginger. A nice table for outdoor eating and a comfy chair inside.
Kerouac....not much traffic around, not many people either.

As long as we're saying nice things, can I get y'all to admire my curtain rods, please? They really do belong in this thread as I need only glance up to see them. I had them made recently -- sort of my birthday gift to myself. I thought wrought iron curtain rods would really set off & tie together everything else in the room. ta-da ~

Bixa, I love what I can see of your home! Your place looks impeccable compared to mine. Lucky Ginger with his 'grass green' bowl on the sunporch, on a special raised box. Your curtains rods look exactly the same as the ones I chose for my bedroom....as do the curtains! Mine are panels of white linen.

Your place looks so nice and airy and bright, Bixa.
I like the curtain rails too, the contrast of the black over the white is really good.

Impeccable? *major snork* Take a picture of anything in low light & compose the picture to cut out certain salient features (does that bag of library books really need to be on the floor in front of a chair?) and you can make anything look okay. I would love to have linen curtains or something similar. Mine are the kind that if you held a match to them they wouldn't burn, they'd melt. Thanks, Deyana, I was pleased it came out the way I'd envisioned it. I was using that lamp between the windows as the reference point for the feel of the room. And guys! The guys said nice things. Thanks, guys! Gyllen, all I know about West Virginia is that it has a reputation for naturaly beauty. Your photos certainly bear that out!

I think that you take photos (in a sense) as I have company for dinner...generous amounts of wine, dimmer switches and many candles... ;D ...great composition. That 'bag of library books' is part of your 'library', not to be scoffed at. My linen curtain panels are from Ikea and were unbelievably cheap. ( I think, 15CDN each....I needed cheap, since I covered an 18 foot wall of my bedroom with them.)
I am very impressed that the 'guys' actually replied! ...and, I think they actually looked at the photos!

Ikea is the kind of place I'll get to go when I die -- if I'm good. These are the curtains I cut & fixed with silicone & trim, then showed in Putting Down Roots.

"What do you see of the outdoors from where you are right now? If possible please put a picture up of your view. " I'll have to wait a couple of hours, until dawn. It may be very foggy. I do have some previous photos looking out...back... Exciting, huh? "Yard Ornaments" across the street from our gate... Give me 2 hours and I should have an "immediate" photo.
