Well that is an interesting little darling! I'm sure I wouldn't have recognized it as a Pelargonium without the flowers.
Mick, back on the previous page you said something about difficult Adeniums. I may have mentioned this before, but ... When I had trouble getting mine to bloom, I whined about it to a plantsman friend of mine, telling him that I'd given them banana peels to no avail. He said that they wanted eggshells. That surprised me, but I duly gave them eggshells and they rather quickly put out buds.

First time of flowering so only a small caudex so far.
The eggshell thing is interesting as I have a couple of Aloes that prefer alkaline conditions which eggshells give them. I didn’t know Adeniums liked it to.

I have always heard about eggshells, coffee grounds and banana peels, but when you don't have a garden you never get a chance to try these things.

Very pretty! Is it some kind of Columnea? I love that combination with the burro's tail.

I should have said. Kalanchoe manginii. !!! At the point of a gun I wouldn't have guessed Kalanchoe! I am surprised by your little rainbow Aloe, as I remember your saying once that you didn't care for multi-colored succulents.

It’s Aloe hybrids I don’t like. This isn’t a hybrid, it’s a variegated form of Aloe jucunda.
Don’t mind Agave hybrids.

Looks like karwinskiana ok. Check multiseta as well.

Thanks, Mick! I'm going with M. karwinskiana because there seem to be more spines per protrusion on M. multiseta. This morning: And a couple of hours later ~

The first picture in #1993 above is a different plant (or at least in a different pot) from the last two pics in that post. Here is the one flower that has opened so far from that cluster of buds in the first photo ~ I'd looked for something in a size everyone would recognize, & figured a passport would do. For those who don't know, the US passport is a very deep navy blue, but the sun was so intense that the blue looks lighter in the photo. And if you're wondering how hot it's been here, the passport only set on the cactus long enough for me to get a couple of pictures, but when I picked it up, it was almost too hot to touch.

That Pelargonium flower is simultaneously super cheerful and beautifully subtle.
Gorgeous cactus, darling blooms.
I wish all those people who think they don't like cacti would look at this thread.

I'm wondering if the hair on the stem of the pelargonium is a subterfuge to keep insects from chewing on it.

Time for a blatant brag session ~ I have buds on my Gymnocalycium! Just look at her putting on a show all over again ~ Three dwarf Euphorbia milii in a pot together ~ I took these pictures a couple of days ago. They're on day three of full bloom right now. The little one ~ And the big one ~

One of the flowers on the Gymnocalycium opened today. For an idea of size, these are normal sized marbles ~

Thanks, Mick. I wasn't that happy with the photo (phone picture), because the little flower is so delicately, perfectly white.

Your phone must have picked up colorations your eyes don’t see in a normal sized flower.
