I love the way the sea looks as placid as the sky

That was out of my kitchen window so I suppose it just means that pollution levels were very high today.

True. But you can pretend the gorgeous colors aren't due to pollution.
One of my favorite wall hangings at home was done by a friend who photographed the chimney tops seen out of our Paris rental, and then painted the scene in shades of blues, pale purples and other colors of the early evening sky.

My sunset photos seldom capture what I see. I try to get the really intense colors just as the sun has set, but by then it's too dark and they look all blurry and crappy.

This is the time of year when we begin to get vey nice sunsets. I happened to walk outside and grabbed for my cell phone when I saw the colors through the trees. Just lucky.

I think our best sunsets are normally in October -- if we can see the sun at all.

Took these about a month ago and somehow they must have slipped down the back of the sofa and I forgot to put them on here -

WoW and WOW again!! Those are just too wonderful for words Mark. That reflection in the swimming pool is so clear. What a lucky family to have that scene when sipping that Sangria

Stunning photos - all I took this in Bournemouth last week there was a rainbow which lasted the longest time I have ever seen about 15-20 mins approx. and influenced the colours of the sunset

Haven't looked in here for a while.
Mark, you 2nd picture is glorious!
Lugg, not only is the color extremely beautiful, you seemed to have captured the very quality of the air.

Don't get such good sunsets at this time of year now as the sun has shifted a long way to the left and sets behind a range of small hills.

We had an interesting one last night as the edge of a front moved through right at sunset time.

Thanks, Tod. This one is a cell phone photo, taken from the car just after I parked downtown. It was one of those nice, unexpected moments.

Thank you! That was yesterday's sky. Today the sky is dark grey and it's raining (again).
