...between the Free Trade Zone and Waterfront Park?
I'm sure that in the mind of the creators there was a distinction but in fact as we go on there is none.

And while I am on the subject, what is the actual difference between On the Menu and After Dinner?
I ask these questions because I don't have unlimited time to search the internet for gems; I just don't look at some branches.

Well then, is there a problem? In fact, as I see it, the Free Trade Zone helps people to meet for the first time, for example when they first arrive here. The Waterfront Park often encourages discussion among people who have already made contact.
Visiting either is optional, as is the entire site. One sets one's own limits, after all.

Your schedule must indeed be very busy.

Funnily enough, I knew I'd get that response.
I truly think that neither you not Bixa can see that what you have set up can do with some tweaking. There is no difference in what people post on Free Trade Zone and Waterfront Park. None. The idea that people would be wandering round the Free Trade Zone for the fisrt time mingling with others is a delusion.
Just amalgamate the two.
And the difference between On the Menu and After Dinner is - in actual fact - what? What is added by having an extra branch? Whatever is posted on one could be posted on the other.
I am trying to be helpful. I want you to take a step back and consider what I am saying and not just be protective of what you have created.

I have heard that people are clamoring for a reduction of threads on another site. I just don't think that we are the same sort of place. This place is still growing and has a continuous stream of new members, which is a big difference. We have left room for expansion. Frankly, I have not seen any totally abandoned threads here, but I have seen plenty on various other sites, and since I am a member of about 10 sites, I am really quite pleased.

I totally agree with bazfaz. There are far too many branches on this board.

I think there are subtle differences on each of the subjects and from a newer member point of view I enjoy all of them. It's just easier to post on the ones that fit your information or views. I have gone back and read some of the older threads and I really enjoy that and have responded to some of them, bringing them back. To me On The Menu is about specific food, and what you are doing with it. After Dinner, is a discussion of food in general, places where you have enjoyed food and how food has influenced you, or brought something or someone closer to you, but hey that's just my interpretation.
I guess the final analysis post where you want and leave everything the same because I really think, a) it's a personal thing and b) who cares, all of the members can do what they want.

Well "spoken" T63. I trust that the 'helpers' know what they are doing and it appears to me that much" tweaking" "has indeed been done. I think that once posters look around and browse the various threads they can appreciate the thought that has gone into them. The difference between the first two threads has always been obvious to me. The difference between the culinary threads is brilliant and is exactly as T63 stated.

I agree with baz, I can't see the difference between free trade zone and waterfront park either. I would also find it better if there was only one instead of the two of them. I think, in my oppinion, it would be more user friendly.

HT is right. I have just gone and had another look at what is posted on FTZ and WP. There is no difference at all. Newcomers are not wandering round the FTZ getting to know other users. For us oldies it means an extra branch to check on. Why?
Yes, there is a move to lessen the number of branches on TTR. That doesn't mean it is wrong here.
