My friend and helper are finishing up the prep work involved in the planting of our fall vegetable garden. We are concentrating on using the planets as our guide in the planting of different types of vegetables(above the ground vegetables, root vegetables, companion plants etc.) www.moongrow.com/zodiac_sign_gardening/zodiac_gardening_basics.htmlAnyone ever experimented with this?

I've never done it, but have met lots of country people in the US who plant by phases of the moon and swear by it.
Do they still give away (sell?) those old-style paper farmers' almanacs with all the phases of the moon and other advice in them?

There is a Farmer's Almanac and a Gardener's Almanac available for sale every calendar year. I always get one,I prefer the former as it has all kinds of old folklore and trivia. Both have the lunar and other astrological info in them.

If anything can be said about this technique it's that it prompts one to move on planting. I, the procrastinator, have only two days or so to plant certain things until the next lunar cycle. So,yesterday and today,it was flower stuff, the cauliflower and broccoli, nasturtiums, sweet peas, the list goes on. One has to seize the window of opportunity if you're to do it correctly as suggested.
