Are you a moody person? Have you always been this way.? What prompts your moods to change,or not? Are there single factors that are fairly constant in your mood changes? And finally,do you think women are more moody than men and vice versa?

I am considered to be nearly always cheerful. My other public mood is "silent" and that one worries people.
I don't think there is any difference in the moodiness of men and women, except when it is weather related. I always hear women complain about gloomy grey weather for some reason, particularly all through the winter. The weather has practically no effect on my mood, except that I noticed some people scowling when I said I was happy that it was raining on Monday.

No, I'm not moody at all really. I'm always in a bad mood! (just kidding). Actually, my moods are pretty stable. In answer to your question, Casimira, are women more moody then men? I don't think so, I think men and women just deal with them differently, that's all.

i don't know, really. i wouldn't consider myself a moody person. then again, sometimes i guess i can be... well i am quite impatient and quite clumsy, and that combination helps me to regularly get into a bad mood (like, by trying to do something, and getting more and more angry at it taking so long and not going the way i planned it).

People occasionally get annoyed at me because they seem to think I'm always in a cheerful mood. Hard for me really to fathom getting worked up over someone else being happy. I think perhaps it is seen as a lack of empathy for other people's tribulations. Whatever ;D

Maybe they're envious, Fumobici.
I don't think I'm moody, since a person with only two moods can't be said to be moody: pissed off or not pissed off.

My bad moods at work and in sports (the red mist) are legendary! They tend to last only for a short length of time though, so maybe they are outbursts rather than moods?
I am only ever content when with my friends though.
edited because I kant spel verry gud.

I have to say, I'm fairly mercurial although ,it's manageable. Most of my mood swings have to do with dealing with other people. Left alone for the most part and I'm fine. Working for years as a therapist,I was very even tempered and fairly placid. Then, after I burned out and went into gardening I was content again. The change of seasons does affect my moods. As does the weather, but not too radically. I think if I lived in a cold climate,I would be in a bad mood much of the time.

Forgot to answer last part of OP --
I do not think women are moodier than men. Overall, I think there are an equal number of moody people of both sexes.

If I'm pissed off, I usually explode and get it over with quickly. If I'm worried, stressed it probably shows in my mood - ranging from quiet to difficult.

at the very least i am not as moody as my dad... he gets angry very quickly. just visited him, and helped his wife carry a big plant down stairs (they live in the 5th floor, no elevator), and she said she is glad i am helping her, because my dad would surely have found something to get in a bad mood about while carrying down the plant...

Stress makes me moody but I suspect that is true for most people.
What puts me in a bad mood is filling in forms (of which we are having to do a lot after our house move). I doubt I have ever come across a form that has been designed for me. Three examples: filling in a form that wanted the number of our bank account; 8 little boxes were printed to put in the account number; our account has 11 numbers. And then changing our car licence number now we are in a new department: the form said to copy the numbers below the heading on the car registration document; so do they main the line of numbers beside the heading - or do they mean the numbers AND LETTERS below the heading? And finally buying a Ryanair ticket on-line; they want our telephone number - OK; they want also our mobile telephone number - we don't have one; but Ryanair don't believe it is possible for anyone not to have a mobile phone and we can't proceed without filling that in - so I put in the landline phone number again and they are happy with that.
I feel my blood pressure rising at the thought of the form we have to fill in for our Titre de Sejour (no longer necessary in France but it is less bulky to carry round than our passports and you have to have ID).

STOP PRESS We went to the mairie with a query about the changing of the car licence plate - and the secretary said she had received an email that the office was closing at 10 tomorrow morning, reopening in 2 days time when a new system requiring new forms would come into oprration. We have posted our form off quickly and hope it arrives before 10 tomorrow.

With reference to the form thing. All my life there have never been enough "boxes" to fit my full name. And I don't even have a middle name. So,every year when it's tax time, the W2 form arrives preprinted with my name spelled incorrectly. It's not like I have some long hyphenated name, simply 8 in my first,8 in my last. This does put me in a mood.If you're going to take my money at least have the decency to spell my name correctly.

Mrs Faz is in a mood now. About an hour ago an email arrived saying that since we had asked to cancel our internet account this would happen the 12th October - that is today. But we haven't. Mrs Faz telephoned Orange and spoke to some hopeless man who said he could do nothing about it. She asked to speak to his superior who said that so fas as he knew we were not about to lose the internet. He had no explanation as to why this email had been sent to us. But if I suddenly get cut off you will know the reas

With the days growing shorter and the dark descending on us earlier I find my mood changing. Our Daylight Savings goes into effect on November 1 this year. I really, really hate the switch. I really think I suffer from The Seasonal Affective Disorder.

This time of year,as the days are growing shorter and shorter,I experience a distinct mood shift. A tad melancholy, more introspective and much more slow. The time change certainly plays a part in this and I struggle in some ways to not allow myself to fall into a funk. Takes me a little while to regroup.
