www.guardian.co.uk/politics/blog/2009/oct/14/sarkozy-brown-i-love-youHe'res one for all the Frenchpersons, Scots and economists out there, and anyone else who thinks there may no longer be a need for satirical publications: Don't miss the photo of the two! The Financial Times today has published a full-page account of the development of Gordon Brown's bank rescue plan, which is worth reading for many reasons, but principally because it includes the above quote from Nicolas Sarkozy. The quote comes from Tom Fletcher, Brown's private secretary, who tells the FT that he heard the French president tell Brown at the height of the crisis: You know, Gordon, I should not like you. You are Scottish, we have nothing in common and you are an economist. But somehow, Gordon, I love you ... But not in a sexual way.

I know flashlight photography is seldom flattering but that door at No. 10 needs refinishing.

I, on the other hand, do love him in a sexual way, partly because he's a Scottish economist, and am jealous of that little snuggle.

I think it just needs a good cleaning. Those appear to be smudges rather than damage.
"......... partly because he's a Scottish economist..."
*goes off to ponder*

Scots and French have always had a special relationship.

I was just kidding about finding Brown attractive. It's actually London's bicycle riding Mayor Boris Johnson.
