In the dog-eat-dog world of biker gangs, one either lives by the gun, dies by the gun or goes to jail. 6 of these bad actors (3 of them from where I live) were convicted yesterday of killing 8 of their own in what was by all accounts an internal "cleansing" of the Canadian Bandidos - the unlucky ones were ambushed, shot many times one by one at point plank range, their bodies stuffed into their own cars and abandoned on a quiet country road. All of the dead were full patch members of the notorious Bandidos Motorcycle Club which originated in Texas. The convicted were largely members of the probationary Winnipeg chapter of the club while the leader of the massacre was a full patch member of the Ontario chapter. One of the Winnipeg chapter members convicted was a former police officer . Don't try this at home kids... www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/bandidos-trial-yields-44-murder-convictions/article1344800/

Hmm, I was wondering whether this was about the Bandidos or Robert Pickton (for non-Canadians, the only person convicted of some brutal murders of women, who were street sex workers and drug addicts; most were of Indigenous descent). What annoys me about the Picton trial is that I don't think he was the only culprit in those crimes. The Bandidos guys would have been better off being building contractors here in Montréal. Just as lucrative and far less dangerous...

Yes, I've heard of the Bandidos, I'm surprised too that one of them was a former police officer.
I also know quite a bit about the Hell's Angels in Montreal...
lagatta, I was living in B.C., at the time of Robert Picktons arrest. One day a few us were out for a coffee, one of the women worked at the local police station, her daughter is a police officer there, another woman that we knew was with us too and she told us this story. She said that a couple of nights ago a man that she knew, and thought she could trust, took her to an isolated area, not far from the Pickton farm and there she was forced to have sex with him, it was either that or he threatened her with violence. Afterwards she realized that this man was a very good friend of Robert Pickons. You wonder if he had others helping him with his crimes? It wouldn't surprise me. I think this was followed up, not sure if he was arrested or not though.

I don't see how Pickton could have been the only culprit in those crimes. I'm sorry but not surprised to hear about that rape - similar stories came up in terms of the Bernardo/Homolka killings, and it turned out Bernardo was also the notorious "Scarborough rapist" - a particularly violent rapist who caused lasting bodily harm to his victims. There are even reports of off-duty police officers partying at the "pig farm" with ladies supplied by the Picton brothers.
In terms of the building contractors, both the Hell's Angels and the Mafia are suspected of involvement in price fixing, stealing building supplies and other offences. Stealing building supplies is not just robbing taxpayers - it can also mean unsafe building practices such as watered-down concrete. Of course you'd be aware of the war between the Hells and another biker gang, the Rock Machine, which had Mafia ties. There were a lot of murders, especially car bombings, and a journalist covering crime stories was shot and seriously injured. What really ticked off public outrage was the accidental killing of a small boy playing near a vehicle that was exploded by a car bomb.
I'm not so surprised that occasionally a police officer goes over to a gang as the temptation is so strong.

Ewwww, Canada seems like such a nasty country. Now I understand why there are so many "snowbacks" in the United States.
