Lovely photos, Kimby and Lugg! But yes, I too would prefer to be in Lugg's photo.

I thought shadows were black! What's the secret to getting blue and orange shadows? Colored spotlights?

Kimby & NYCgirl - I would love to visit both locations regularly ! Yes but if only one the tropical setting beats the cold for me too.
Those Blue /orange shadows in your photo Kerouac add another dimension to this thread, great photo

Delightful, Kerouac! The first one is like music.

In Kerouac's second photo, the chairs almost look like a group of friends hanging out.
Bixa, beautiful tree shadow. Looks like a delicate filigree.

Thanks, NYCGirl. And thanks for prompting me to take a second look at Keraouc's 2nd picture. It really has a depth & delicacy that I missed the first time.

A corner house on Prinsengracht in Amsterdam. I was struck by the contrast in outlines (and by the sudden winter sun making the shadow in the first place):

Beautiful and subtle, Patrick. I admit to pride in this picture, as for once I captured exactly what I was going for ~
