Just out of curiosity, I'm just wondering how many forums you visit or are a member of? Do you post on the other sites regularly or just once in a while?

I can't believe how many sites I've accumulated in the last few months. Eight to be exact.
TT, (only post on there once in a while now, just on the Canadian or the UK branch)
Anyport
Meeting pot
IndiaMike (mostly lurk, only post once in a while)
My own (here and now group)
And three others, (one only because a friend introduced me on there)
How about you?

Ooops, it's nine actually! The last one I haven't checked on for ages. Although I've been a member for 3 years there already. I think I need to get a life!

I have joined 3 forums on which I have not (yet) posted, because I am overextended at the moment.

I find that I'm spending more time on my computer then I used to. But that's only because I'm writing my book every day. Over 100 pages (book pages), done already. I'm finding it emotionally draining, as you an imagine, so these forums give me a outlet, some light relief if you like.

Those of us who work most of the day on a computer need to be able to wander from time to time.

I check in on fodors every few days usually, less than formerly, more often if I have an overseas trip pending. It gets a tad contentious sometimes for my taste.

Here, the Meeting Pot,a regional garden forum. I registered on Fodor's eons ago but don't even remember my user name. Everything I tried was not available and I was exhausted just registering. No time for too much more.

Here and the Meeting Pot. I am registered with Lonely Planet and mostly posted on the India Sub-Continent branch but I don't bother to go there now. My time is taken up with APIS and MP and sometimes I get to visit Deyans's forum.

I've closed my forum for now, spindrift. I can always open it again sometime in the future if need be, or if anyone wants to start posting on it again.

I seem to have a disconcerting tendency to get picked to help staff web BBs. I've managed to wiggle out of all but one which I've been part of for almost ten years now. Modding is thankless drudgery, administering a BB is worse.

I'm on the Thorntree, mostly the SEA branches, on Tales of Asia that's going very slow, on K440, a basically Phnom Penh expat forum, on a German forum specialized in Cambodia, on the LP German forum and here.
I post during working hours, no internet at home.

What is a BB, Fumobici?

It can be hard to keep a BB going. I think you really have to on it all the time. I guess I'm just too lazy for that. I had fun developing the site though, and learnt some things, which was interesting for me. Like I say, I may open it up again at some point in time, right now, I have too many other things going on...

Just to clarify, I spend most of my internet browsing time on here. One or two other forums just occasionally. And there is one that I visit just because I like talking to someone on there...

7 that I can think of - APIAS, HANG, Pizzamaking.com, redflagdeals.com, a digital photo furum, Tripadvisor, Chowhound. I'm minimally active on all but this one.

Well, like I said, I'm not really active on any of the others - just check them from time to time for specific information. I literally haven't posted for years on at least 2 of them.

I checked off "4" on the poll. There are several more than that to which I'm registered, but the most active, in more or less descending order are: Thorntree, Anyport, Mexconnect, Chowhound. Somewhat often also Mouthfulsfood.com, eGullet.org, and TripAdvisor. I also look in, from time to time, to Apple.com/support; Fallinginlovewithsanmiguel.etc. Locally, I'm very active with Yahoo Groups' Michoacan_Net and MoreliaConnect. Those two are closer to old fashioned BBs than Web forums. They are also among the most useful to us, despite some software quirks. Because of those quirks, I have the postings sent to my email In Box. The Comment areas of my blogs, mexkitchen.blogspot.com/ and cocinamexicana.blogspot.com/ are like mini forums, plus I regularly comment on my Favorite blogs.

Well, it looks like someone wants the 'Here and Now Group' opened up again. So I've just opened it again. Also I have started to print snippets of the Story on one of the boards, you do have to log in to view it though. Link: hereandnowgroup-hang.proboards.com/

currently four, i'd say. oh, there is a fifth one i post at very occasionally, i remember. oh well, already voted. there are some i sometimes consider checking out again, but i really don't have the time. i'd say this is one of the two i post most at - and i don't even post much here or at the other one. the other two i have one or two threads i always reply to and sometimes read around a bit, but sometimes forget to go there for weeks...
