I mentioned that our iron utility covers are vanishing fast - this week a friend fell into the hole as some wise-guy had laid newspaper over it. Luckily only a major bruising and some cuts to his arm. To me it seems like 'on purpose more than stupidity' by the perpetrator.

Which ever way you look at them, they spell GAZ....is that GAS or electricity under there?

Most definitely gas. With things like that, you can't afford to make a mistake about what you rip open.

I recognise the inevitable "Pont-à-Mousson" peaked logo at the bottom.

I had never heard of such an animal. We are having enough trouble with illegal immigrants without pavement furniture sneaking in. And in rural Suffolk of all places.

I posted a similar one up earlier in the thread so the subject has already been broached. I've found two of these so far in downtown Seattle, I expect those aren't the only ones.

I haven't stuck my had in here in awhile it seems. Some really great new contributions. Fumobici, I vividly recall the 'cousin' of your recent contribution from early on in this section/thread. Fantastic.

I'm hoping Mich will get some representations from Munich on her trip. I know we have Berlin, but, I can't recall any from Munich.

A town called Wetzlar in Germany. It's where Leica cameras had their original factory and research place.
