We loved reading various newspapers during recent trip to England, and the NY Times thrown up on our lawn has only sporadic UK news items. How best to follow what's happening there in these interesting political times?

yep, can you check www.bbc.co.uk from the US? That's the best, I should think.

Yes, we can check both sites from NA. They are both very good and I find they have different strengths. I use both.

Thanks, Patrick, auntiannie, and Jazz. I got interested in the political situation there, liked the Guardian a lot; hard to go from a lot of UK news to almost none in the NYTimes. Casi, sweet of you to ask. I really appreciated the pretrip help I got. We had a great time. I am posting my longwinded trip report on fodor's under "stokebailey" alias. Let me see whether this link works: www.fodors.com/community/europe/brighton-to-bakewell-and-london-in-between.cfm

Oh, dear. NOW what have I done?
One of my problems is I only carry sketchbook and crayons along, so am hopelessly mired a couple centuries back, visuals wise.
How about if I post a precis, to prevent boring you all to tears? Where's the trip reports section?

You can send your drawings over on the next steamer.

*skips and dances about*
Lola, didn't you know that we were all fascinated and envious of your trip, and dying to know how it went? And I imagine everyone fell a little in love with your beautiful daughter and wished for her to have a wonderful experience.
Anyway, if you decide to post a trip report, you could place it in Europe. If you're willing to share some of your drawings, you could take pictures of them & post them along with commentary in Post Cards.
Whatever you decide to do, I know it will be interesting and insightful.

Now I really have it coming. Just for that, I will sit through the entire slap a thon with the volume on.
