I love trains right along the water. The train on the Côte d'Azur is like that, too.

That area is so beautiful, Annie. It's very rich in history, isn't it? Do you get many tourists? All that sense of the sea opening out from the land is wonderful, and I love how green it is.
If I'm not being nosy, how did you wind up there?

Devon is quite touristic, bix. yes it is very green, thanks to an ingenious system, used all over the UK throughout the year, that ensures the country is beautifully green. it's called R.A.I.N.
I'll tell you bix... I moved here ... by chance! I had always wanted to live abroad and I found myself in a situation that allowed me to try this. I had always liked England and since I speak the lingo... the rest is history!

" That area is so beautiful, Annie. It's very rich in history, isn't it? "
That handily also describes the REST of the UK too.

Well, I imagine every populated part of the world has a great deal of history. It's just amazing that certain spots are so densely crammed with incidents that made it into the history books. And yeah, much of the UK would fit into that description.

I'll be going on a Buddhist retreat in Devon on the weekend of 6th June...so I'll get a chance to see Exeter for the very first time on my way back. I'll send a report of my findings.
