Exquisite Jazz,a haunting quality about them.I can see the allure to go there in search of them. Are they made from a type of rice paper? Some appear to be silk.I would love to know more about the history of the craft and how it has evolved. Imec and Casimira...you have come up with the perfect words, 'comforting, somehow' and 'haunting'. Many of these lanterns are silk, Casimira and I am going to our largest Chinatown to see if I can find one. If not, they are available online. I will search to find their history and post it.
