Yaaaaay ~~ what a relief! It really tells you something when most techs shudder in disgust when Vista is mentioned.

I have only spent a few hours on the laptop since I got it yesterday afternoon, downloading skype, adobe and all my other little extras! And I cannot believe that I suffered Vista so looooong.
I used to switch on my laptop and then go and make a cup of tea and still have to wait a bit before it had booted up, well XP of course is super quick. Also, as soon as I opened, any programme, we would have a few minutes of "this programe is not responding", none of that shit with XP.
All hail XP!

Microsoft, not universally loved in any event, truly garnered hatred by foisting Vista on the world.

When you have cornered more than 90% of the OS market, it is temporarily clever to come out with an unsatisfying product that people will pay to get rid of and replace with another OS from the same company. That way they cash in twice.

Luckily, I had Vista Business so it was a free downgrade to XP.

I have Vista but hate it. Here they don't even give us the real Vista, we get some crap Vista Starter for developing countries, that only lets you open 3 programs at once. I have looked into getting XP installed, but it will take more time than I can currently be without my laptop for work reasons. Maybe I will look into it next time I go into vacation. Apart from the stupid 3 program restriction, I also have problems like palesa with things freezing up/not responding - and this computer is quite new and has a lot more memory than the machine I had XP on.
