Oh for a light dusting of snow please! If you don't think the climate is changing come down here and try and move about in anything from 36C to 42C day after day. It's a cool 30C today but how I long for Autumn and cooler days!

This morning when I got up, it was 12°. This afternoon it got just over 14°, but it was sunny. Strange to have such a small difference between day and night. And the forecast rain didn't happen.

You will have a fabulous time in the Cape Town area! It is nothing like the rest of South Africa. It is more like Europe friends say and I sort of agree with them. Haven't been down that way for years. The winelands tour is a must, preferably in your own transport so you can take your time.

Our nearby ski area, Mt. Baker, has had 23 feet of snow so far this month. Luckily down here at sea level, we've only had a few inches, now gone.

Tomorrow we are supposed to have a warm (15°) and rainy day. The weather no longer makes any sense.

Here too. Though our weather has become more like places such as Toronto and Buffalo (NY). Snow hasn't disappeared, though there have been winters when I could cycle most days, though I'm a wimp about snow and ice. (Not cold, one dresses for that). Once one has reached 60 or so, a fall on ice can be a life changer, and not in a good way. And yet I am adamant about keeping up "everyday" exercise; if not one has no tonus or energy. I walk quite a bit though it isn't like the splendid feeling of cycling.

As expected, there was light rain most of the day. I did not feel particularly "warmer" but the thermometer says otherwise.

It definitely felt "warmer" here -- it was 18° this afternoon. Down to about 14° this evening because it rained a bit.

It is still a bit rainy but quite warm (16° in Paris, in the 20's in the south) -- in any case, the meteorologists are saying that it is 10° above normal.
I assume this means that all of the plants will start budding any minute now and be at risk if it gets cold again.

We were in Bayonne today. It was 26°!!Everything is indeed budding and even blooming much too early.

22 and sunny -wow... lucky you Bjd. Here it is cold, misty and then the sun breaks through finally Minus 1 this am. This weekend come Sunday is going to be awful - high winds , rain etc etc.but warmer. My god mother is in SW France and her daughter in law recently posted that it was around 26 - that is so wrong.

Oz still fighting bushfires, mainly in the Gippsland region near the southern tip of Victoria, and in the National park near Canberra.
Meanwhile in Western Oz a cyclone, level 3 is hammering the small town with 200kph winds and 600ml of rain

I'm sorry to hear about the continuing fires. I thought the recent rains had put paid to them.
The most dramatic weather/climate news is 18.3c in Argentinian Australia (to the south of Tierra del Fuego which is divided between Chile and Argentina). And temps much higher than normal in Tierra del Fuego itself. Usually that windy place doesn't get very warm even now in high summer.
Here we got a dump of snow; first really heavy snow this season. Very sunny and bright today, but cold. Other than some shovelling I don't plan to go anywhere today, I have translation to do and of course a wee black cat to pet. I'm making empanadas; being lazy and I'll go buy the tapas (the rounds of dough) at a bakery, but will do that tomorrow when main roads will be dug out and it will be much milder. Most of the route is via the Métro, normally unaffected by weather. There are various things in the filling, but the main protein component is bison mince. Also onions, of course, and some olives.
