The wonderful Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac has died. I have probably played Rumours more than any other album. More than your beloved (and mine) Beatles Mick?

It’s public TV week and we just watched a reprise of a years old special concert performance by ZFleetwood Mac. I was struck again by the richness of her voice as opposed to the more strident but also lovely Stevie Nicks.

Rumours is definately in my top 10. I saw Fleetwood Mac at The Rainbow in 1976/77. They were absolutely brilliant. I love Christine McVie's songs...she was interviewed by the beeb about 6 months ago and still looked fabulous.

Rumours is one of my fave albums. I was surprised to learn her age today in the news posts. Somehow I thought she was a similar age to me.

Last weekend when we learned of Walter's death, (which was not unexpected as he had been in hospice for a bit) I pondered posting it in here but, I didn't. Perhaps I was just so sad and or didn't think his death would be very newsworthy on APIAS. We are good friends with all his former bandmates of 30 years. My husband and Walter had a special bond. His memorial is this upcoming week and I anticipate there will be many, many people there from all walks of life. Many musicians of course many who will perform. There won't be a dry eye in the house. R.I.P. Wolfman Here's a favorite tune he did some 25 years ago along with The Roadmasters

When I saw that casi had posted in this thread, I thought she was probably sharing the news of the death of this N’Awlins performer For the record, no one from here pronounces New Orleans that way Kimby. (maybe in some movie and or TV productions) (I am not from here but have lived here since 1978...)

I figured I might get corrected on that. But you locals don’t exactly say it the way others do, either.
Can you post a phonetic pronunciation for us nawtheners?

I am devastated by this news of which I just learned.
I had the great privilege of seeing/hearing him perform here in NOLA circa 2014?
One of the things that I was most impressed with about his performance was how generous he was with his fellow musicians that shared the stage with him.
While he could have easily taken up the limelight for himself, he didn't.
There are so many songs of his that I could post but I am going to post this one because it was the last song he ended with that brilliant Sunday afternoon.

Oh, no! This is shocking and sad news. I've been out and about all day, only checking the news about the FAA glitch, so missed this important loss.

Japanese music legend Yukihiro Takahashi of the Yellow Magic Orchestra has died at age 70. Yes, I know that he is off the radar of the majority of Anyport members.

I'm probably not alone in thinking that yet another door back to a great deal of our shared pasts has just closed.
