Due to the end of the world yesterday there might only be a few of us sinners still around. Can you just call out 'yo' if you're still here? We'll soon find out how many of us rotten apples are left and how many smarmy goody two shoes have departed.

Aha -- I was about to ask who among us had been raptured on the "end of the world is nigh" thread.
I wonder what justification the guy is going to come with this time -- his prediction for the world's ending in 1994 was wrong because of a mistake in calculations. ;D

Some time back, I actually knew someone who believed in the rapture. I asked which body was going to be raptured. The believer didn't understand my question, so I explained that as the chosen would be gathered up bodily, they might have bodies that were failing them in some way at the time of the gatehring. Would we have to go out in our arthritic, or out-of-shape, or diseased bods, or could we pick some peak time in our body's lives -- nineteen-year-old athletic, that sort of thing?

I am waiting with bated breath for all the excuses. I'm sure if you're mental enough to come up with the rapture in the first place you'll have had a fall back excuse just in case it didn't happen. Maybe another mathematical error or something.

i wonder how much the guy who calculated it really believed in it himself. like, if there was ever any doubt in his mind. almost feel a bit sorry for him, he might be quite disappointed now.

Sometimes they just claim that god has decided to give us one last chance since they were so virtuous in alerting the world that we had better repent. So it is thanks to them that we are still alive.

One of the comments on the BBC site was one I remembered. And sums up the situation accurately - Said by Einstein, "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

Funnily enough, the man who started all this has not been seen. I wonder if it is true then.

He has said he missed the correct date by 6 months.
Does anybody really believe this shit? Boardmembers not included of course. How gullible do you have to be?

Only 5 months, HW.
How gullible do you have to be?
How long is a piece of string? I figure if you really want to con people, adding some religion (or money) into your act is the way to go.
