I love to have occasion to get dressed up.
The thing I hate though is going shopping for clothes.
Most all my really nice dresses I lost so, eventually I will have to bite the bullet when an occasion arises to wear one.
Congrats to all the folks with happy events on the horizon.
And, I am thrilled to hear that you finally made it to Paris HTMB!!

I tried to use my cell phone to text my sister while wearing driving glasses. Pushed a button I thought was “go back” or “cancel”, and deleted our entire text conversation of 5 years. Big oops. There’s a diary of events down the drain. 😢
At least it lives on in her phone…

Makes you feel sick in the guts when that happens, doesn't it? I share your feelings.

I’m kinda hoping someone will chime in with a magic solution…

Perhaps your sister’s, or your, cell provider can suggest how to update your phone. It may depend on your type of service and the age/operating system of your phone. Certainly, anything newish, would be easier. As long as your sister still has the thread, all is not lost.

One the crime shows, they are always able to resuscitate deleted material. Tell that police that you suspect that your sister is a dangerous criminal and you think the proof might be in your phone.

You can maybe use SmartSwitch if your sister's phone is beside yours. It's what you can use to transfer information and photos from one phone to another. Called SmartSwitch for Samsung, but Apple also has a system for when you change phones.

Thanks for that suggestion, bjd. I messaged it to my sister. 🤞

Haven't you been drinking a bunch of coca-cola and that sort of thing lately?

I thought glycemia is to do with eye sight disease? Or is that glaucoma?

That's glaucoma, Tod. Glycemia is to do with sugar in your blood.

Not traumatic, not a real peeve but blackbirds keep tearing out my chives. I suspected a cat had come and dug them out, but this afternoon I spotted blackbirds ripping the stems out and digging a hole.

I would suggest pinwheels, preferably the reflective metallic kind, but I suspect blackbirds are too smart to be scared by them.

"Blackbirds are totally neurotic" was the opinion of my partner (yes, the Ukrainian fellow)." They dig around and throw the food out and keep on digging instead of feeding their young." He also derided any birds, plants or animals that were not indigenous to the correct locale. He was an ecologist and was known for various books and papers on Oz flora. He wrote and photographed a book on the Eucalyptus family in and around Adelaide. He knew where all the centurion trees were and lots of interesting stories about how they got their names etc. His recipe to get rid of blackbirds was to go to a novelty shop and buy as realistic a rubber snake as you can and place it in a semi-hidden position near their digging place. Buy, Bye Black bird!

I am more scared of snakes than I am annoyed by blackbirds so that suggestion will not work. And I really like blackbirds' songs in the evening -- a sure sign of spring here. I just wish they didn't make holes in the garden. This is the first year they have attacked the chives -- usually they just dig in the grass.

For some reason her wedding weekend was too busy with special events to bother her with my petty trauma. Maybe another day….

I found out today that I am likely going to lose my Sweet Olive tree that I planted years ago. I foolishly planted it too close to the fence that is now having to be replaced and it is in the way. It is the absolute worse time of year to transplant it somewhere else. I'm going to give it a go but am not very hopeful. If I can get a decent sized root ball dug up and put it in a giant pot it may survive.

GRAZIE!!! I just spoke with our contractor about possible solutions. (He is also a fabulous gardener and has a beautiful garden at his home with some very cool and unusual plantings). He believes that they can work around having to move it and is going to make every effort to save it).
I'm telling you, we really lucked out with this crew and their subcontractors. All of them have worked together on multiple projects throughout the city for many, many years.
The only impediment would be the nasty bitch of a so-called neighbor out there with a measuring tape every time they do any work near her property that her Daddy bought for her. In the meantime, she is getting a brand-new fence on our dime and is relishing in the fact that this is the case but will seize any and every opportunity to harass us.
(All this is being documented and we have taken legal action against her.)

A little while ago, I received a message from a friend of mine who said he was at that moment sitting in the Beauvais criminal court at the trial of the people who massacred (and killed) a colleague of mine several years ago. The victim (François Mouchet) was pleasant and annoying, still in his 30s, married with two children. We were on the same social committee at the office, so we met regularly. He was also a womanizer and a loudmouth, which seems to be what led to his death in tha parking lot of a nightclub.
This is totally horrible and not at all a petty trauma, but what is worse is that until I received that Whatsapp message, I had completely forgotten that this ever happened (about 8 years ago, so why the fuck did it take so long to come to trial?). Why do our minds often completely blank out important events?

I guess that's what happens when you are busy living your life and mostly what is right under your nose is important. I really feel sorry for his wife and kids. Imagine being home looking after the children while your husband is busy having a party in some nightclub. I wonder if she ever thought this might happen because of his waywardness.... I can only surmise it has taken so long to come to trial is because the offenders have clever lawyers.

Came home in a rainstorm last night in the car and didn’t hear the warning sound that I had left the lights on. Probably have a flat battery this morning.....

BAttery stone dead and needs replacing. Goodbye £116 on top of the £67 to the dentist on Tuesday for 5 minutes work to replace a crown. Not in my budget for the month.
Sigh.....

I'm a little surprised Mick. I have a warning that I've left my lights on but even if I ignore it, after a set time, 5 mins or so, they automatically switch off unless I alter the settings. I can't remember the last time I had a car that would keep them on all the time. And who says you need a new battery, Halfords or someone?
