Everybody seems to have a preferred moment of the day, sometimes two. However, it is often difficult to find other people operating on the same schedule as yourself. Many morning chatterboxes have just barely escaped being strangled at the breakfast table, while people reaching their peak as the evening approaches sometimes obtain sullen glares from their exhausted companions.
How is it for you?
I prefer dawn, even though I am not in a position to take advantage of it when I am not on holiday; I figure that it is a minority position, but I may be mistaken.

I like dawn too. I just wish they could fix it at 7 a.m.

The best part of the day to me is that second when you get into bed.

Mark, I could swear there was a post between mine and yours but it has vanished. Did you intimidate her for liking dawn?

I love dawn, especially when it begins to be warm and I can sit in my garden with coffee and sense my way into the day, silently. Even if there is rain, I sometimes sit under the garden umbrella. I like to see the light changing delicately and it feels fresh. Dusk is beautiful, again with the shifting light. From midnight til dawn feels 'out of time, out of place' and free of obligation. This is often my happiest and most creative time.

Baz, sorry don't recall seeing it. But then again I tend not to read posts of above two lines and even if I do I usually ignore them and post what I want anyway.

Mine depends on the time of year. I guess it's because of daylight savings time. In the fall through spring it's early dawn, late spring onward it's dusk.

I like dawn too, like most people I think, but the problem is I'm a late sleeper and I HATE HATE HATE alarm clocks.
Waking up early has always been painful to me. For 15 years, I had the misfortune to start work at 5:00 am. Never again (I hope). I work the afternoon shift now so the only moment when I'm awake at dawn is when I'm travelling.
So I would say that the very best time of the day is that second when I lay my head on the pillow.

Please dont get angry with me, me mostly,
the very best time of the day for me nowadays is the time I give a sweet kiss to my girl when she is sleeping just before leaving her flat to work in the morning and she giving me that smile of hers.

I prefer the world when its after 2200 and things start to fall silent. I will often go out during a warm summer night for a walk just to enjoy the stillness of the world.

It really depends. If it's a work day, then 4pm is the best as that's when I clock off. On my days off I'm happy all day long. I am not a late night person though, I quite like the mornings.

May favourite time of day, is on a Sunday morning, when I open my eyes, and realise, that, I, can, turn, over and, go, right, back, to, sleep!

Meanwhile, it's almost time for a pastis. Another good part of the day as the season slowly improves.

What I prefer are times linked to food. When I am in the kitchen preparing food, cooking or eating anywhere... The rest depends on circumstances.

I would say it depends on the culture -- that's still mid-afternoon to the Spanish, for example.
