Maybe Lugg is really lost down the bayou! No ... but after reading some of K2's recent posts and of course all the previous ones re this part of the world I now would certainly like to have the opportunity Gorgeous photos Mossie. I think on the first pic there is a Daphne ( see Kimby's post on " What's in bloom " I adore cowslips lots in flower here now in the wild. The name cowslip derives from an old English word ‘cowslups', now known as a cowpat. They flowered where a cow had ‘slupped'.

Thanks Lugg, I had wondered about the derivation of cowslip. Not Daphne I'm afraid, but bonnie purple heather, we planted several when we set the garden out some years ago now. I cannot get stuck in to the garden now and have let it run wild, although every so often I try and tidy up. One day soon I must sort out some geraniums, they give a nice splash of colour.

Yes, Mossie, I agree that your yellow flowers are very cheerful looking and must brighten your garden. I also like geraniums and often have them growing. They do well here in the right light, but sometimes suffer in the heat and humidity of mid-summer.

Gorgeous photo in every way, Lugg ~~ the way the background fades to dark, the framing of the flower, and the way it glows. And you also caught the teensiest spider web!

Skater, you beautifully captured perfection -- twice! Lugg, those apple blossoms are meltingly gorgeous. I see you've stored that tree's name in your memory bank. Hope I'll be able to continue taking pics of it. A short report on the tree's plight here at #s 21 & 22.

Don' think I've seen it before Rikita - lovely green.
Bixa I see that I did not mention that fantastic shot of the yellow cactus flower - thought it was stunning!
So are your blooms of the pink azaleas Kerouac. I have that first fuschia pink colour in my garden as a hedge, except your azalea is a special variety I think.
Lugg - does that mean you will have some apples to look forward to ;D
