The gardens between the hôtels particuliers making up the Paris branch of the National Archives (in le Marais) are open to the public according to timetables variable by season: in the winter from 8 am to 5 pm, and summer from 8 am to 7 pm. This is interesting to those who would enjoy a view of "classic and romantic" gardens, and a look at the internal façades of some historic Marais hôtels particuliers. Of course you have to be reasonably quiet, not play frisbee or such, obviously not dig up or damage the plants (duh) and not picnic. www.archivesnationales.culture.gouv.fr/chan/chan/musee/jardins-archives-paris.html
