Now, I don't want to appear as though I'm rising 'above my station in life', but what do you think of creating individual threads, to appear always at the top of this area, to put recipes into immediately? Already, hither and yon, we are getting many delicious recipes. I remember how long it took to finally compile the Refuge cookbook (months and months!!!) and I think that Bixa did this. I whipped off a hard copy of it ASAP and it sits in my kitchen.
ie: (as per Bixa's Original Organization)
How To's a.k.a. Foodie Tips Appetizers Soups Vegetables Meat Seafood and Fish One-Pot Meals, Vegetarian Fare*, Sandwiches ....***if Wibbles begins Vegetarian posts, this could be its own thread. Sauces; Salsas; Seasonings; Stuffings and Such Pastas and Rice Desserts Cookies, aka Biscuits Home-made Liqueurs, Pickles, Preserves etc.
What do you think?

Not a bad idea but perhaps somewhat premature. This isn't exactly a foodie site, so it might not fill with recipes as quickly as those places. Things can always be rearranged in the future if the need arises.
It might even turn out that, as a travel site, recipes might be rearranged by region or continent rather than by food type.
Who knows? Watch this space.

My alphabetizing, sorting little heart warms -- nay, glows -- at your suggestion, Jazz.
It think the lesson of the other recipe compilation was if you see it & like it for goodness sakes copy it and paste it promptly!

Jazz, your excellent suggestion about not letting the recipes pile up and get away from us has been percolating in the back of my brain. One thing about extracting recipes from a thread is that the discussion around the recipe is lost, which can be a shame. It can be a suggestion for a simple twist or enhancement that really elevates the original. Thus, what I've done is to extract names of recipes and linked those names to the appropriate thread. I think it will make it easy for everyone to run down recipes they remember seeing here, but can't remember where. Go here for your clickable recipes.

Now that took some work and patience, thank you Bixa!!! This is great since I have already spent some fruiltess time, backing and forthing, trying to find a specific recipe. Will you automatically put in the recipes to come or, is there some way an individual poster can do this?

Thank you all! Really, compulsiveness is its own reward, so I was into the project and just hope it's simple and useful for everyone. Jazz, I've been thinking about how to keep it up-to-date. Since I read Any Port every day, more than once a day, I'll try to stay on top of it. Also, there is no way for anyone to access the OP in order to change it. When I go out of town I will probably enlist you to compile the new stuff, if you'd be willing. In the meantime, I hope everyone who uses it will let me know about wrong links, if anything is missing or badly misfiled, etc.
