This article by a Chinese-Canadian is about trying typical North American "White-People Food". Of course "White People Food" would be somewhat different in other parts of the so-called Western World. And quite a few of these foods were things I never ate as a child.
And of course, many people from "white" backgrounds but different countries would have the same shock, and many "non-white" (groan) people of many different hues do eat these foods now, or the typical mainstream food of whereever they live. But it is a funny story.
When I first started travelling to Asia, I quickly learned that the vast majority of Chinese hated anything with cheese in it. As the years have gone by (25 or so), I have seen a lot of the Chinese (and not even "French-Chinese") buying just about as much cheese as the French.
