The ONLY positive I can take away from today is the fact that Farage et al can no longer spout their appalling BS, and embarrass us with their rudeness in front of the European parliament.

Yes, there you'll be posting away, with a British wine at your side, perhaps with a plate of UK pickles and some water biscuits.
Now think how much better that picture would be with a nice 2005 Rioja, some kalamata olives, and Swedish crispbread.

I don't drink alcohol, hate the taste of olives and crispbread just cuts the inside of my mouth. I'll be having dandelion and burdock pop, Cheshire cheese with pickled red cabbage and a Bedfordshire clanger.

Well, THAT was moving! Still can't believe that this is happening.
For the US and for its parent country, 2016 will be remembered as a year of shame, a year of these two countries deciding to willfully and stupidly ruin themselves.

The bullies won. Considering he's so jolly proud to be British (if the flag waving was anything to go by) the deplorable Farage-shit-for-brains-git-bastard showed a deplorable lack of British politeness and decorum. Undignified smug ranting yahoo (in the Johnathan Swift sense).
The city hasn't imploded and the shelves in Tesco's remain filled...but in my heart we are a diminished country. We've lost our dignity. We are now a population of flag waving buffoons, ignorant of our own government's plans. Accepting the 'necessary cuts' and 'economy savings' foisted on our education, health and social services whilst billions is 'invested' in HS2. Dumbing down? We have achieved Idiocracy. I'm not talking about Brexit anymore. There's no point.

Well yes, that's the whole point of his existence.
The Guernsey business shows how confusing everything is. None of the Channel Islands was ever part of the EU nor are they part of the UK, but until February 1st they were part of the EU customs territory. And since they are not part of the UK, they can make whatever deals they like with the EU. However, it would be very foolish to believe that the UK will not put maximum pressure on places like Jersey and Guernsey to draw them away from the EU and force them to do whatever the UK says.

My 'Leave' voting sister is saying 'Nothing has changed' and that it's all been a fuss about nothing. However...her husband is a farmer and he will be losing his annual EU subsidy. It's going to be phased out gradually but by a significant amount over a couple of years. Most UK farmers need the subsidy to keep going and the UK government isn't going to pick up the slack. My sister is up in arms.

Did your sister expect the EU to continue subsidizing their farm even though Britain left the EU? Or did she not consider the consequences of a Leave vote?
