CBS is running Yellowstone over from the beginning on Sundays. I can’t help watching. (I also start books over once I’ve finished them to see how the author constructed the story from the start.)

I have watched quite a lot of "enjoyable" shite - it probably deserves its own thread.. the crap to relax too with no need for any engagement of brain maybe ? . Selling Sunset ; Below Decks; Five Bedrooms and now of course in the UK Strictly has re-commenced .

I have not seen any yet but am going to look if I can view it somewhere. Be prepared for some ruthless characters, foul language and over-the-top violence. Along with great scenery and interesting plot lines that incorporate issues of the day (but not always accurately). Not really representative of Montanans, though. And Utah stands in for Montana the first 3 seasons.

I started watching Fleabag again. I have the great advantage of forgetting 90% of what I saw in the past, so it's all new again.

The new series of The Great British Bake Off started last night. Imagine my surprise when I saw that I 'know' one of the contestants! I worked with both of Josh's parents. To be fair I don't know the young man himself and I haven't seen his parents for a few years To some extent it explains why his Mum disappeared off fb a few months ago....

I see that the Uktvplay on-demand service will be showing Mad Men, which I never got into first time around. But first I have to finish Schitt's Creek, which I'd seen much talked about on different messageboards (mildly amusing, I'm finding). Has no one watched Taylor Sheridan’s 1923?
We’ve enjoyed Yellowstone and the “origin story” 1883. There’s a middle generation story called 1923, not sure if it’s worth watching. With Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren starring, it can’t be bad, can it?
I need a fix and the conclusion to Yellowstone has halted filming, partly due to writers/actors strikes, partly to lead actor Kevin Costner’s desire to work on his OWN projects.

I just finished watching season 3 of the EU series Parlement, which is a satire on everything that doesn't work in the the EU parliament. It has been picked up by all of the EU countries but not by the UK, which I must admit is not covered in glory in season 1 showing how they scuttled out of Brussels. In the new season the main character has become totally cynical after having been naive and idealistic. Season 4 will start shooting at the end of the year. It is far more honest than most comedy series, and it all fits into 24 minute episodes.

Watching Ashoka on Disney Channel. It's odd..I don't rate the Star Wars films at all (more of a Star Trek girl me) but I'm enjoying the spin off series. We loved The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fet splendid (if a bit silly) Next month I think that there's a new series of Loki Grow up? Me?

I'm reluctant to divulge what I started watching last night, as I know I'll be mocked or at least privately sneered at. Anyway ~ player.stv.tv/summary/the-real-crownI also watched the first episode of Lessons in Chemistry & was quite engaged by it.

I also watched the first episode of Lessons in Chemistry & was quite engaged by it. Had you read the book? I’m fearful I won’t like the series as well as the book. But it may be a moot point, since I can’t get Apple + TV, and these apple shows don’t seem to be available on SVD.

No, I have not read the book. When the episode first starts, it smacks of 21st century young women playing dress-up and has that too slick tv look. (Admittedly, I probably pick up on that because I remember 50s & 60s) But it settles down, mainly in part because both Brie Larson and Lewis Pullman make their characters quite appealing. Note to those who, like me, have not read the book: When I googled Lessons in Chemistry just now the very first hit, in larger letters at the top of the page, contains a big fat spoiler.

Forgot to mention above that I'm also watching GBBO, of course and All Creatures Great and Small. The latter is perfect fare for immersing yourself in a different time period, letting down your emotional defenses, and enjoying something that doesn't feel as thought a stick is being run back and forth over your picket fence.

Have we talked before about Race Across The World. ?? Its possibly something that would appeal to most of us here . Just because of our ( maybe) united love of travel
I am impatiently waiting for the next episode of the celebrity version . But the previous 2 series are probably more entertaining .
Just starting series three tonight ... Canada

We have been watching The Long Shadow on ITV1. A police drama about the search for the Yorkshire Ripper. The cast is impressive but we aren't impressed with the writing. Jeff watched a drama about Jimmy Saville The Reckoning on BBC 1 with the very talented Steve Coogan in the main role. Whilst it was an uncomfortable watch it was well done. Although I wasn't really paying much attention..just in the same room as the tv whilst Jeff watched it I was busy sewing a linen rag doll for our great granddaughter....

Have we talked before about Race Across The World. ?? I think Kimby discussed it years ago, being a fan. I think I watched maybe one season of it but turned away because I can never forget that they have a film crew with them which makes their adventure fake to me. Same thing for Survivor, of course. French versions of both of those shows are nevertheless popular in France, too. However, I do watch another French show that does not have a film crew. Two guys film themselves and each other with nobody else there as they go on an adventure somewhere in Europe (usually). They start out stark naked and have to dress in leaves and branches until they find some old clothes to wear, shoes, whatever, that they usually beg off people they encounter, and of course food, a place to stay and transportation. They have a goal each time, usually somewhere about 500 km away like "go to Scotland and have tea with a baroness" or "make your way to Corsica and learn to make cheese." I will be devastated if I ever find out that they have a secret film crew with them. If nothing else, somebody has to deposit and abandon them at their starting point and that has never been explained.

I watched something like that, but quite a long time ago. Are you seeing new episodes, or is the show in reruns? I have never seen Race Across the World, but it would seem to have possibilities for the reason that Lugg mentions, i.e., that it's about travel.
