Okay, in spite of my great age, I try to keep up with things, but I was totally amazed to discover that there is now a virtual Japanese pop star who has concerts all over the world. She "performed" in France last week to more than 5000 adoring fans, waving lightsticks that they buy for 35 euros. I confess I don't know what the concert tickets cost, but I fear that they are the same price as for flesh-and-blood singers. Elvis, Sinatra and others have already sung as holograms, generally briefly, but we are talking about watching a completely fake person for 2 hours or more.
On the bright side, Hatsune Miku speaks every language in the world, which is more than any other pop star can say.

You can see her much better here. Note that the video is already 7 years old, so what have we oldies been missing?
Of course, she will never get sick and cancel a concert like Lady Gaga or Mariah Carey.

It doesn't matter how old I get, I doubt I'd ever penetrate the mysteries of ever-changing Japanese popular culture.
