Can anyone recoment a hostel near Berlin HBF station

hi, recommend is the wrong word - but near hauptbahnhof you have an a&o hostel. i used to work for them ages ago (at a different location), they might have changed since, but back then they were big and kind of nondescript. okay if you need a place to crash, not so good if you want a fun hostel atmosphere. Meininger is also nearby, can't say much about them but i think they are a chain, too (and i suppose both not cheap and with varying prices depending on how booked they are already). There is also a Jugendgästehaus nearby, but i know nothing about them, other than that they are a christian hostel. i would suppose in all three of them there are likely to be school classes on their annual school trip to be present.
are you only going to stay a night? if not, personally i'd recommend to stay not right near the hauptbahnhof, as there are more interesting areas, and it is not that difficult to get to hauptbahnhof from elsewhere ...
