So my sis has lent me hers to try out on my floors - she thinks that I will be most impressed. I just now have to make myself use it to see.

Are you talking about those little things that roll around on their own, or a mop you actually push across the floors yourself?

Wondering the same.
Not divulging how much time I have spent online perusing offers for those mops or for roomba-type vacuums.

We have a shark one that does floors etc, the steamer unit unclips and has all sorts of attachments for cleaning tiles, cupboards etc. We bought it a couple of years ago and initially my darling husband insisted that he had to use it...as it was A GADGET and therefore, as a girl, I could not be trusted to use it....
The said gadget was ceremoniously used TWICE in two years by OH the rest of the time it was locked away in the garage. Last month I threw a wobbly and insisted I be allowed to use the bloody thing because I was fed up of having to clean the floors on my hands and knees just because he didnt want me to use the steamer...anyway. I've used it twice in a month...cleaned the wooden floors throughout...all the kitchen cupboards and the bathroom...as well as refreshing the stair and bedroom carpets...I think that a good steamer correctly used is a fabulous tool...

I have a small Kärcher steam cleaner. I don't think it has been used in at least six months.

I like the fact that you clean without expensive cleaning solutions. Altho you can get stuff to add to the water reservoir. On wooden floors I have to go over afterwards with stuff that protects the wood...but I don't mind. At least I'm not sticking to the floor in the kitchen anymore....

I definitely need to start using mine again, because not using cleaning products was one of the things to which I was attracted.
My kitchen has been redone, but one thing that was good in the past was getting grease off the ceiling (that makes my ceiling sound disgusting, doesn't it?). Sooner or later, I will need to clean my "new" ceiling.

Yes Bixa and Htmb- one that you have to push yourself .
Well I have now used it and am converted - I've used it on the floors but also getting grease off from parts of the kitchen ( mine is obviously as disgusting as yours was K2 ) So much easier than just mopping and gets everything much cleaner too.

Everyone has some grease on their ceiling, if they cook. The point is not to let it build up to the point where it gets disgusting. I remember many places that were also coated with nicotine... that is not as common now.

Thanks, Lugg! I had no idea they could be used on areas other than floors. Amazon.mx might have to be sending you a commission!

Yes, I have a steam mop and I like using it. I also modify my Swiffer for quick clean. Instead of the Swiffer cloths/pads I dampen a dish towel and tightly attach it to the Swiffer when I want to just clean the kitchen portion especially in front of the stove, sink and refrigerator. A few times a month I also use a dry towel on the Swiffer after I use the steamer to sort of buff the floors.

Anyone want to bring their steamer and clean my home? I have a guest room and Florida is pretty nice this time of year.

Anyone want to bring their steamer and clean my home? I have a guest room and Florida is pretty nice this time of year. Well it may well have been in February htmb but what I have learnt since I finally purchased one, is that using it when its hot and humid is hard work and makes one sweaty ( or should I say perspire muchl) . So now I look for cool days before I even think about getting it out. But when I do .... its great . Roll on the Winter

I have hidden my Kärcher somewhere in my bedroom. I really should get it out again one of these days, especially to get rid of a few grease spots on the kitchen ceiline.
