I had posted this previously but IT issues have left it elsewhere Anyway RIP Jack Charlton www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jul/11/he-was-larger-than-life-football-world-pays-tribute-to-jack-charltonEven though I was only 6 years ( and really have no interest in football) I can still recall my Dads excitement during the 66 world cup final. Years later my son ( another Jack also a football fan) and my Dad met Jack and his brother Bobby by chance in an airport lounge .They were so gracious and we still have the autographs that they gave my Jack.

It's interesting how the death of sports icons can affect all of us, even when we are not interested in their sport. They become part of the country's heritage and we generally feel the loss anyway, even if it is just because of the sadness that we see around us.
