So just as the tourist business is taking off again, the aircraft will probably be forced to sit on runways and wait for the high altitude to clear.

No, this isn't like the other one, or the ones in Indonesia. Very mild-mannered and totally calm.

Lava on the Comoros Island fascinated me. We walked on it where it had flowed into the ocean around our hotel. Of course I had to bring some home with me. At the time it was just a memento but little did I know the young boy riding behind on my jetski would one day give me two beautiful grandsons that would in future years pick up the same lump of lava and ask, "Geggen, what is this black rock?" I smiled remembering the holiday and happily launched into the full description of how volcanoes give us this unusual rock!

CBS 60 Minutes last night featured Iceland’s volcano. The slow-moving lava reminded me of Hawaii’s volcanic activity, which we watched from up close in 1994.
There’s two types of lava in Hawaii: “aa” and “pahoehoe”. One is ropy and slow-moving. That is like Iceland’s newest volcano.

My sister and I have booked a helicopter tour to Iceland’s “newest” volcano for July 16, at the end of our 10-day tour. The chopper sets down near the lava flow for a short photo op.
If the volcano stops erupting before we go, they’ll refund our money or let us switch to another tour.
I’ve never been in a helicopter! Neither has my sister.
