I will confess in advance that I did not devote as much time to Christmas things this year. Perhaps because Christmas isn't here yet? But I went to see the windows today. This year they have eliminated most humans and animals because Planet Christmas Tree has taken control.
You will see a bit later that they are pretty frisky. Doesn't look like it yet.

Printemps is better once again this year, if I can get around to doing it.

I have a hard time appreciating Planet Tree, but the roof pictures are magnificent. I love that all those people were up there in the rain.

Planet Tree will probably appeal to small children >she said diplomatically< in Leicester the christmas lights have just gone up, the decorations in the shops are just last year's dusted off and hung up. I'm meeting up with a few work chums in a few week's time, for our traditional walk around the city's Christmas lights...I'll take a few snaps then. The rooftop photos are excellent, I really like the reflections

Bah humbug! I agree with all the others -- not too impressed by the decorations but I like the rooftop pictures.

The dome looks amazing I think - otherwise not so impressed. But the rooftop photos are wonderful.

The tree creatures are not fluffy and they don't have faces. I don't know what the creators were thinking.

I hope the children enjoy the decorations!
When I look at the Christmas tree I think of kale.
The roof photos are really good.

Kerouac please give me a perspective of the buildings in view from the rooftop - When a camera zooms up it makes everything look so much closer when it isn't. For instance the immediate ornate building is of course the Opera Garnier from the back, correct? Then what I do also recognise is the Grand Palais With seemingly a close Eiffel Tower. But what is the green roofed building - the Madelaine church? And way off to the left A church with two magnificent spires?? and to the right, the dome of the Invalides?

The green roof would indeed be the Madeleine. I was wondering about the church with two spires too, because I did not recognise it. I'll figure it out sooner or later.

Could the church with twin spires be Basilique Sainte-Clotilde?

You got it in one Htmb! Most definitely from my perspective. I have been around it on the ground on about three occasions and it was always closed- well I thought so. Mainly to sus out the highly recommended restaurant alongside recommended for The special steaks. If you read any reviews it looks like it is on a downhill turn.

I have never even been to it (where is it?), so thank you tod2 for sparing me the trip to Google Images.
I am still working up the strength to go to Printemps for a new window report. To be honest, I already went there, but it was full daylight and all of the window reflections were dreadful and unusable. So I am definitely going to have to return after dark. (When I did the Galeries Lafayette windows it was still early morning (8am), and I thought that both stores would start at that time, but only Galeries Lafayette did. They are taking the energy crisis seriously.)
