Beringen is a city in Limburg, Flanders. I had never set foot there and knew the name because their soccer club which was in div 1 was consisting of 80 pc of blacks when it was not common.
Nevertheless being in the neighbourhood at around noon I thought I would find something to eat and maybe discover a nice town.
Well I was disappointed on both counts. Beringen is just a normal town.

Normal towns are not nice? I am happy to know that Limburg is a real place. It seemed logical that Limburg cheese came from someplace named Limburg, but I never checked to find out. Now I know. Is it still made & sold there? It's admirable that you check out these towns with an eye to reporting back on them.

I add forgotten to attach the pics. herw the main square. The other side. It was market day. I am always surprised that in Belgium some guys who use French names have no friends who can check their French spelling. It is either le Chic (nice) or la chique (chewing gum). I have hardly ever seen a moving fish shop that big on a market.

Thank you ~~ that really makes this report even nicer. And hey -- it looks like ................ Belgium. I want to go to that fish market. Honestly, Belgium could become one of my favorite countries ever, given half a chance. some guys who use French names have no friends who can check their French spelling. That is a global problem, Whatagain.
